London: 39-year-old Clive Watson is doing time for stealing from hotel guests, and then having used the money to buy hormone treatments that he needed to become a transsexual. Now, he's suing the Ministry of Justice to let him have his sex change.
Gaining legal expertise from a barrister paid by national taxpayers, Watson is taking his case to High Court to allow him to have his sex change. He feels that because he's been denied the operation previously, it's an act of discrimination.
His barrister won a recent judicial review at the High Court and now the prison director's decision will be investigated further.
Watson has told the court that he feels that he can't be "cured of his criminal motives" until he receives his operation!
Hmmmm...and just when you've thought you've heard it all!
