Jul 24, 2007 - A Pledge to Kill White Citizens - 15 comments

Clutching his meditation beads, soft spoken and gentle Selvan Moodley, 53 was killed execution style after being hijacked. His murderers stole his Corsa bakkie, and his family say, he would not have put up a fight.
Moodley, a Hare Krishna devotee was hijacked at about 3.30pm on Saturday afternoon. Apparently, off duty police officers had been driving in the area where they found the bakkie. They heard gunshots in the bush. On investigation, the hijackers opened fire on them, which they returned, causing the criminals to flee.
The events unfolding after the discovery of the vehicle has left the family frustrated. After opening a missing person report , the police were not proactive in searching for Moodley. The family took it upon themselves to search hospitals and areas from Cato Manor to Amanzimtoti until 2.30am on Sunday, stopping at various places along the road, calling out Moodley's name. They still had hope he was alive. On returning to police station, early the next morning, they were greeted with a new shift of officers, who knew nothing about the crime of the previous evening. A relative, who knew 'people' made phone calls, before the police assisted, albeit reluctantly. Moodley's body was found about 1km away from where the vehicle had been abandoned.
Moodley's daughters realise that nothing can bring their father back, but don't want families in the same position to experience the same lack of assistance from the police.
Allegations against the police will be investigated.
