Busta Rhymes is certainly stacking up his charges as he is about to face court on four separate occasions. The star may find himself convicted of assault and driving offences on different days since a judge refused to squeeze them all into one trial
The 34 year old, US rapper star, who is better known as Trevor Jones, has been accused of drink driving, driving under a suspension and assaulting an employee over a pay issue not to mention assaulting an apparent fan who he saw spit on his car after a performance at a concert.
When already awaiting the two assault cases, he was arrested for drink driving, insisting to the officers that he had only a shot of cognac an hour before he got int he car.
The judge in charge at the district court in Manhattan, Larry Stephen said that he could not permit the two assault charges to appear in thre same trail.
The rapper was strangely seen to be rejoicing the news as he gave his lawyer, Scott Leemon a 'high five' on hearing the news of the separate trails.
Mr Leemon said of the news,
The decision today validates the defence's argument. We detailed to the court that we have defence to these cases and the court agreed."
Mr Jones had already been offered a deal for the second time to scrap all four trails for a year in jail instead. He has refused this offer.
The trials which are counted so far as four, will run one after another starting with the first on the 5th of September this year.
