Florida state Rep. Bob Allen is accused of offering an undercover police officer $20 for oral sex in a public restroom. Allen posted bail but could get 60 days in the county jail if convicted.
Allen is a Republican who lives on Merritt Island. He has been in office since 2000.
Allen is a former Little League volunteer who also donated time to the Boys and Girls Club, serving on its board of directors. Allen is married and has a teenaged daughter.
Allen was in Veteran's Memorial Park about 3 p.m. Wednesday in Titusville when police say him enter the restroom three times.
A plainclothes officer entered the restroom and Allen made allegedly propositioned him.
In 2004, he told FLORIDA TODAY that he was seeking re-election "to continue the positive direction and successes we've achieved during my first two terms."
The charges are one count of solicitation for prostitution and a second-degree misdemeanor.
Last year, Republican Rep. Mark Foley of Florida was involved in page sex scandal. Foley claim he had been abused by a Catholic priest as a child and entered rehab for an alcohol problem. Foley eventually resigned.

acts committed in the presence of those of any age.
