You do not need a large parcel of land to grow some of your own food, nor do you need a backyard or even a community garden plot. If you have a balcony you may be all set to grow your own vegetables and herbs.
Local may well be the new organic but many people do not have any land where they can grow their own food. Well if you are an apartment dweller and have a balcony there is the possibility that you can grow your food.
In this video, Kevin Feinstein talks with us about the food value of his balcony container plants. This is permaculture design applied to modern urban living. Permaculture does not require you to live in the country or have a 1,000 acre spread. It is a set of principles and ethics that can be applied wherever you are.
