Microsoft to Spend $1 Billion to Fix Xbox Problems, Offering Warranty and Apology

After what seemed like a long and hard battle against the Red Ring of Death (Xbox 360 sign of system failure) Microsoft has come to see the light. All Xbox 360s now have a 3 year warranty wrapped in an apology from Microsoft.

"You've spoken, and we've heard you. Good service and a good customer experience are areas of the business that we care deeply about. And frankly, we've not been doing a good enough job." Said Peter Moore, the chief of all things Xbox. This statement was released along with the news on the system dedicated site, Xbox.com. After what seems like a long time of angry customers, complaints and lawsuit battles, Microsoft is willing to accept that the future of gaming, the Xbox 360, has a few kinks.

The company now says it will spend $1 billion (USD) to repair serious problems with the console. The most common problem upon the systems release, was the Red Ring of Death. The Red Ring of death is where the fancy Green lit ring surrounding the power button on the Xbox 360, permanently turns red, issuing a problem. After this, the console becomes useless. This problem still occurs today on Xbox 360s everywhere. Once you have this problem, you can not fix it. Moore continues into small details about the Red Ring of Death. "With ongoing testing, [we] have identified several factors that can cause a general hardware failure indicated by three flashing red lights on the console. To address this issue, and as part of our ongoing work, we have already made certain improvements to the console." Could this mean a new console coming out? It is hard to say. But if that were to happen, it would leave many Xbox 360 owners in the dark for they would be stuck with the old console and not the updated one. The good news is that if even though you bought your console a year ago, you receive a 3 year warranty to this date meaning that your warranty began as of 12am today. Also, Microsoft is still offering to fix consoles infected by the Red Ring of Death. With this news, Microsoft is starting to look all the more friendlier.
