When are jokes not funny? When it involves the police, the marine unit and your family becoming upset. This is what happened to one man who thought it would be funny to upset his family and cry wolf.
A Wasaga Beach man charged by the Ontario police and given a court date for thinking crying wolf to his family would be a funny joke.

He was fishing on the Georgian Bay when he thought it would be funny to pick up his cell phone and call his family. He said just one word to them, "HELP" and hung up the phone.

His family thinking something bad happened, called the police. The police then started a ground search and the Ontario marine unit was also contacted in case they had to assist.

Just before the search began, he was found at home.

The police did not think his joke was funny and they charged him for tying up critical emergency response resources.

I do not know why he thought that would be funny to do to his family. Well maybe now he will think twice about doing it again.
