The seventies heart throb, Donny Osmond revisits the home of his ancestors in Merthyr Tydfil in Wales tonight for a special concert, yet the gig is set to be the drippiest since the hit, 'Puppy Love.'
The stage will still be set tonight for a few thousand forty somethings who can't wait to see the heart throb of three decades ago, yet hang on to your umbrellas Wales, for the rains are said to be heavy.

The Met Office in London have given us news of rain and very heavy showers for the last three weeks in the UK and it is said to be here to stay for yet another week, and Wales will be no exception.

Such events in Wales tend to go ahead despite the rain - they don't get all that luscious green countryside for nothing you know, yet the rain has been so brutally heavy that many of the usual events have been postponed or even cancelled due to the severe weather.

June has appeared to be more like April over the UK spreading the fear of flooding to many parts of the North.

Traffic jams have caused chaos, floods have got higher and hundreds more people are evacuated from their homes due to rising water levels in areas such as Sheffield. Yet there is no let up for the foreseeable future according to weather reports.

For the concert tonight to celebrate Donny Osmond's career and the big fact that his family came from Wales, it is thought that around 15,000 people are expected to turn up for the concert. Snow drifts and thunder storms would not keep these crazy horses away from their man!

The gig will be taking place at the open air Cyfarthfa Castle. Brollies are a must including wellies and some warm clothing.

Quite what Donny will be wearing is up to him.

Yet the gig will not be cancelled. The organiser, Emyr Afan said,

"We have taken precautions on the site and it's looking pretty good at the moment. But people should come prepared. Wear something waterproof, put some comfortable, sensible shoes on and bring a weatherproof sheet to sit on."

However, the 44 year old American can't wait to perform. He must have been to Wales before.

The weather doesn't even put them off going to the beach...
