Apple release the iPhone data plans today in their website, have plans available for individual, family and for existing AT&T customers. The charges are comparable to existing data plans of Smart Phones and Blackberries.
Apple announced iPhone data plans today, the rates are comparable if not better than many existing plans available for smartphones and Blackberry devices. All iPhone service plans, individual, family, will have visual voicemail and unlimited data, Internet and E-mail, only difference is the number of minutes and SMS text messages one needs.
The plan starts at $59.99 for basic options with 450 minutes, 5000 weekend minutes and 200 SMS Text messages as shown below:
The Family plan is shown below:
For existing AT&T customers there are only a small additional monthly fee of $20 for the iPhone data plan, which should be excellent for them.
For now AT&T is the exclusive carrier for iPhone. But if you are able to get the iPhone without an AT&T data plan, then you can still use iPhone with other phone carriers.
I compared the above rates with my Sprint Plan they are pretty much the same. Apple has started well instead of demanding a high service rate for the iPhones. The phones may be costlier to begin with, but other phones when they started did the same. I paid $699 for Palm Treo 650 when they released it first, now they have come down to $299 with the phone plan. I am sure Apple will release cheaper phones in the future.
Do you see any difference between your phones data plans compared to Apple’s iPhone data plan?
