You and your husband like gourmet but what about baby? Baby food used to be bland and boring. There's a reason of course. Babies should be able to learn the taste of each new food. Also it's easier to see if a single food gives baby problems.
But after that first taste wouldn't it be nice to give baby something that tastes great? A reason to think veggies are to die for?
It's been 14 years since I have fed my own kids baby food but my youngest was just in time for Earth's Best. Back when organic was really new in the market place Earth's Best hit the better grocery chains and my son loved it.
So did I. I tasted each little jar and some of them I had to hide from the rest of the family. The blueberry/apple was a favorite of the older ones to spread on toast.
I liked the fact that it was natural and tasty. The youngest still loves to eat healthy over junk which is a plus.
Why is Earth's Best a favorite with families?
Organic ingredients are grown in soil without harmful pesticides.
No Genetically Engineered Ingredients (GEIs).
Made from only whole grains.
No added salt, modified starches or refined sugars.
No artificial flavors, colors or preservatives.
Kosher (excluding meat varieties).
Rigorous Product Testing.
The product has been around for 20 years. To endure even before organic baby food was popular says a lot about the quality.
The company was founded by twin brothers Ron & Arnie Koss in 1985 in Vermont. Not only did they want healthy food but healthy farming to be part of that process. Farming practices to enrich the soil and water supply were paramount from the beginning of the company.
They had discovered that most traditional baby food recipes included many refined and overly processed ingredients. Adding salt from infancy makes for a person to expect salt in every food they eat.
By 1987 they had a processing plant and backers. In the first few years the small Vermont plant had 20 employees producing 3 fruit purees and 2 vegetable purees.
By 1989 Kings & Grand Union grocery stores had joined the health food stores in carrying the expanding product line.
In 1996 the company was bought by Heinz. In 2000, Earth's Best was acquired by the New York based Hain Celestial Group, Inc.
