Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels was recently bitten on the leg by a dog belonging to one of his constituents. The governor apparently frightened the dog by starting his Harley-Davidson.
Governor Daniels was staying with the dog's owner on a farm near Bloomington when the incident occurred. He told the Indianapolis Star that it was "one of those little hazards involved in traveling around Indiana,"
The day after the incident, Daniels went to a diner for what he says is his new favorite breakfast -- "eggs over easy, biscuits and gravy and a tetanus shot."
"I like riding motorcycles and I like dogs," he said Friday. "The combination proved a little difficult because I think the noise got the farmer's dog upset, but I'm fine."
Daniels is no stranger to the bite of politics. During his 2004 campaign he was bitten by a pig.
The dog, fortunately, will not be euthanized.
