The Japan Science and Technology Agency recently unveiled their Child-Robot with Biometric Body, or CB2 for short. Designed to mimic a one to two year-old toddler, it senses the environment through optical, auditory, and 200 tactile sensors.
How cool is this. Absolutely amazing. This robot is to mimic a 1-2 year old child. Incredible how they manage to make this kind of stuff come to life.
51 actuators powered by air assure smooth movements, though the robot can only stand with assistance. Never the less, with help or not, this is truely a huge deal for the Science and Technology Agency.
In a way this is kind of freaky to see something so life like. The robots skin is made of silicon and other materials. They may have to work on the features though. LOL Its name CB2, an abbreviation of Child-Robot with Biomimetic Body.
