Family decorates their son's nursery with a Cray Supercomputer
Silicon Valley couple Pam and Paul Costa apparently has high hopes for their son Edison.
The Costa family has decorated their baby’s nursery in a Thomas Edison theme and the centerpiece of this nursery is an actual $5 Million Cray Y-MP Supercomputer they’ve pressed into service as a seating area.
The Supercomputer you see was valued at $5 million dollars in 1988, so the actual value will be much less than that.
The parents expect Edison to be interested in computers, hope he is if not they will find it a terrible disappointment.
Here is the gallery of photos.
I think it is too much, putting too high an expectation on a kid whose future may or may not be computers. To assume everything beforehand is going to be a problem for the kid.
What do you think about this introducing supercomputer so early in a child’s life?
