The key to stopping the terror plot for JFK airport was a drug dealer. Posing as a terrorist the convicted dealer played the role in order to reduce his sentence.
He played the would be martyr who would blow himself up as the fuel lines exploded.
The dealer was able to get into the group of four obtaning information that allowed the FBI-NYPD Joint Terrorist Task Force to close in with solid evidence.
In most cases, you can't get from A to B without an informant," said Tom Corrigan, a former member of the FBI-NYPD Joint Terrorist Task Force. "Most times when an informant tells you what is going on, speculation becomes reality.
With the war on terrorism every tool is being used. This time the task force used a man who had a second drug-trafficking conviction in New York. Beginning in 2004 the informant proved to be a solid lead.
