Paula Abdul has come forward to set the record straight about her alleged drug use and alcohol abuse. She lashes out at those questioning her sobriety.
Paula Abdul, 44, is denying her odd behaviour is related to recreational drugs or alcohol.
She said she is sick of people saying she does drugs or is drunk. She said it is defamation of character and she wants to set the record straight that she has never been drunk and that she does not do recreational drugs. She said this negative attention over her behavior overshadows being a Grammy Award winner and selling millions of records.
Paula said "I'm sick of it. I've never been drunk. I don't do recreational drugs. It's defamation of character," If I appear exhausted on television, it's because I am! I have a lot of sleepless nights because I'm in so much pain," "I try to say something and I stumble, and that's what people have picked up on. I'm not polished."
At the age of 17, she was a cheerleader and was involved in an accident. Then in 1987, she was in a car accident with a drunk driver. In 1992, she was in a plane crash. All three have caused her severe chronic disorder called reflex sympathetic dystrophy (RSD).
RSD is a neurological disorder that causes severe chronic pain.
Paula has had 14 surgeries and has 4 titanium plates in her neck.
She said I had an operation the same evening as the first-season finale of American Idol."It was time to set the record straight. I want America to know that I have never been addicted to anything, no chemical dependency, nothing for recreational purposes,"
She claims the massage therapy and anti-inflammatory medicines and acupuncture helps with the pain management.
