article imageBody Found in School Cafeteria Vent

By KJ Mullins     May 26, 2007 in Crime
A foul odor in a Phoenix school's cafeteria vent brought forth an evacuation on Friday. The man was discovered in the roof's duct system at Sierra Vista Elementary School. Speculation is that he was trying to break in and got stuck.
There is no idea how long the man was trapped. Because of the smell though it was for at least several days.
The school was placed on lock-down even though the student body was at no time in danger. Parents were immediately notified that an adult was involved but it did relate to the school.
David Torres, who arrived at the school at midday to pick up his two sons, said he was surprised to see police and TV helicopters when he arrived.
"I was thinking something real bad had happened," said Torres, who was leaving with his boys. "I got nervous and I started to look for my kids."
When the school re-opens on Monday the 550 students will have a psychologist on hand.
The school serves students from preschool to the eighth grade.
