Family and friends of U.S Army Pvt. Byron Fouty, a Michigan soldier still missing, are waiting for news of him as two soldiers have been found and one has been identified.
Founty a 19 year-old attended Walled Lake Central High School. Walled Lake is a quiet small community outside of Detroit.
Founty joined the Army last year after he got his GED. He was shipped out to Iraq in December. According to federal official Founty and two other soldiers were kidnapped in an ambush where three U.S. soldiers and an Iraqi were killed.
The Defense Department lists Founty as being from Waterford Michigan. He is from the 10th Mountain Division's 2nd Brigade Combat Team, Company D, 4th Battalion, 31st Infantry Regiment, based at Ft. Drum in New York.
Family friend Cathy Conger, 49, of Walled Lake said she's on “pins and needles” waiting for news.
“I don't know anything,” she said.
