A student at Fredericton's Leo Hayes High School is being held while investigators learn more about an explosive device that was found today. The New Brunswick school was evacuated just after noon Monday.
By 5 pm the school was cleared. No other devices were found by the bomb team. They had scoured the school with a bomb-sniffing dog from the Codiac RCMP.
The student body was taken to St. Mary's reserve. They were either bussed home or picked up by their parents.
This is the third time this month that the school has had a security issue. Earlier this month a 15 year old brought a gun to school. Just this past Friday a toy gun was found prompting an hour long lock down.
"Some of the parents that have come by this afternoon have been very good, and some have, of course, been worried," said teacher Kathy Vangenne.
