A 91-year-old World War II veteran was savagely beat and carjacked in Detroit.
Deontae Edward Bradley, 22, was arrested for savagely beating and carjacking of Leonard Sims, a 91 year old war vet.
He has been charged with carjacking and assault with intent to do great bodily harm. Carjacking could carry a sentence of up to life in prison and the assault could carry a maximum penalty of ten years in prison.

Leonard Sims parked his 2005 Chevy Malibu in a parking lot and Bradley approached him asking for a cigarette. He then punched Sims in the face and neck numerous times. He grabbed the keys from Mr. Sims and then used the car door to push him to the ground at which time he jumped into the car and drove off.
Many people witnessed it and went to help Mr. Sims. It was all caught on video and the video was released to the media in hopes of catching the suspect. Just a few hours after it aired, Bradley was arrested.
Prosecutor Kym L. Worthy said
“Is there really any reason to beat a 91 year old just to take his car?”“Carjacking is bad enough but there was absolutely no reason for him to brutalize one of our senior citizens to accomplish his criminal goal.”
The video of the attack can be found here.
Attacking a 91 year old man must make this suspect feel like a big man. I hope he gets live. He does not deserve to be walking the streets.
