In 2004, Lenovo agreed to join the sponsorship program for the International Olympic Committee. Lenovo is the third largest personal computer manufacturer in the world. Not only has Lenovo agreed to create personal computers for the Olympics, they are als
The torch design is based on symbolism as it seems to be inspired by the shape of a traditional Chinese scroll. The curly design is based on a traditional Chinese representation of clouds.
The theme that Lenovo has created for the torch is called the "Clouds of Promise" and was chosen from over 300 applicqants. The torch is fashioned from a polished aluminum-magnesium alloy, and weighs over 2 pounds.
The design team consisted of an international group from Germany, Singapore, the U.S., and Japan, who have spent more than 10 months working on the design.
Lenovo also has said that they will release a personal computer to go along with the torch. The PC bears the same design that is found on the back of the torch. In the corner of the notebook is the logo of the Olympic torch and of the 5 connected circles. However, they will only manufacture 70 of these notebooks to go along with the 300 servers and 800 desktops.
As we get closer to the Olympics, Lenovo will release more information on their laptops which will inevitably become hot souvenirs, as Olympics memorabilia always are.

The picture of the desktops were also released not long ago but I still think that the laptops look much better. There's not much information on the laptops but I will keep an eye out for any news.
