The big winner in last night's GOP debate at the Reagan Center in California was Texas Congressman Ron Paul.
According to the poll on the MSNBC site, Ron Paul's positive ratings were about 9% before the debate but soared to over 30% after the debate. Virtually every other candidate lost ground, except for Mitt Romney who gained only one point on the positive scale.
The big losers were Guliani, whose positives went from 41% before the debate to 27% after, and John McCain who went from 31% before to 21% after.
The results for the negative ratings showed very similar results. Ron Paul's negatives when from 47% before to 30% after. John McCain's negatives went from 40% before to 41% after, and Guliani's negatives went from 34% before to 39% after.
Mitt Romney and virtually all the other candidates showed very little changes in their ratings before and after the debate.
Also, take a look at this poll on WorldNetDaily:
It shows Ron Paul in the lead with about 32.5% of votes cast.
It seems clear to this writer that when people actually get to hear what Ron Paul stands for, they will support him. The other candidates were exposed as the political hacks they really are.
