White Stripes promises to play unique venues in cities they've never played before, including every province and territory in Canada.
Rockers White Stripes announced the final stretch of their North American summer tour, which will will start on June 24 in Burnaby, British Columbia. The US stretch will start in July 22 in Portland, Maine followed by a show at Madison Square Gardens in New York. Prior to coming to North America, the duo will perform six shows in Europe.
"For the 10th anniversary of this band, we're going to play the 16 states we've never played before," frontman Jack White told Billboard.com. "
And that way, we'd have played all 50 states in our 10th year. And, we're going to play every province and territory in Canada -- I don't know if it's ever been done. We're going to play all the places we haven't been, and that's really appealing to us."
The tour features tunes from the duo's latest album "Icky Thump," slated for release on June 19. But fans don't have to wait until June to sample the album. iTunes is distributing the title track of the album right now.
