Private Paul Barton, a 27 year old British soldier who just returned from his second tour of duty has decided to speak to the public.
He wants to tell it like it is, not the sugar-coated version that we hear from our governments.
His public statements are a sign of the growing anger with the troops.
"Private Paul Barton said that they are "sitting ducks" to an increasingly sophisticated insurgency."
He also added that "Basra is lost, they are in control now. It's a full-scale riot and the Government are just trying to save face.
He insists that he remains loyal to the Army despite such public dissent. He said "I have already volunteered to go to Afghanistan later this year."
Other soldiers on the Internet also agreed with the comments made by Private Barton. They said "that the insurgents appeared to be better trained, funded and equipped than had been the case during their first tour of duty."
It appears that more soldiers are willing to break the silence.
