There is this new kid in town called purple asparagus. Originally grown in New Zealand, but for the first time ever grown and sold in England.
You will love it for more than its colour.
Marks & Spencer asparagus specialist Andrew Sharp said: "Home-grown purple asparagus isn't fibrous and has a wonderful sweet taste which makes eating asparagus raw a possibility for the first time."
It has been grown by leading asparagus farmer John Chinn in Ross-on-Wye, Herefordshire, after a two-year project.
Mr Chinn said: "Each year we eat more asparagus and shoppers are always looking for new varieties."
Hope it will come to North America soon and we can all enjoy it.
