More talk of impeachment? More political posturing.
Democratic Congressman and 2008 presidential hopeful Dennis Kucinich, has submitted articles of impeachment against Dick Cheney. Republicans are calling this a “political stunt,” stating that the case for impeachment cannot be made.
Kucinich is accusing Cheney of altering evidence regarding the threat of Iraq’s WMD (despite numerous and well-known quotes by those on the left making the same case), allegedly making up ties between Saddam Hussein and al-Qaeda, and threatening hostility against Iran, despite Kucinich’s view that Iran does not present a threat to the U.S.
Kucinich called the effort to impeach Cheney “a starting point,” when asked why he hadn’t gone after President Bush despite calls from some on the left who have been demanding that both Bush and Cheney be impeached.
With all that is going on in the world, is attempting to impeach the Vice President really in America’s best interest?
