Student, Jamal Albarghouti captures dramatic video and audio of the Virginia Tech shooting with his cellphone camera, just feet away from the crime taking place.
Albarghouti was walking across campus today unaware that his campus was under attack and people were being killed. He overhead a man shouting for him to get out of the way and he quickly ran from the scene.
"I just turned around and left,"
he said, as he ran, he saw officers headed for the scene. The officers were drawing their weapons so Albarghouti knew something serious was going on. He decided to pull out his cellphone that was equipped with a video camera and began shooting footage of what was going on around him.
The cellphone video shows officers with guns in their hands approaching a building and you can hear alot of gunshots ringing out in the background.
His footage is rough and shaky but these facts only add to it's on-the-scene feel and you get a sense of what it was really like to be there. Of course Jamal could not get too close for his own safety, he is EXTREMELY close to the officers involved in the gun fight.
To view the video and hear an interview with Jamal please read the full article here to see for yourself.
"I knew it was something way more serious than that, so I started taking the video,"
