Five rescued after sea fog alert

By Owen Weldon     Apr 16, 2007 in World
Three adults and two children have been rescued after getting lost in thick sea fog on waterbikes and a jet boat off the Denbighshire coast.
Multiple life boats and a rescue helicopter were involved in the search for five missing people after they got lost in thick sea fog. When the coastguard found the group an elderly man needed oxygen therapy and two children had to be treated for mild hypothermia. Extreme fog conditions caused the people on their water bikes to become disoriented and that is when one of the water bikers called for help.
eventually the loud sound of the rescue helicopter engines and rotor blades allowed the stranded group to give their approximate location.
The group were found after they heard the rescue helicopter's engines. The coast guard said the beach was busy due to warm weather and when the sea fog came it caused a lot of people to become lost and disoriented.
