Prince William is single again. He and longtime girlfriend Kate Middleton have decided to separate. This is sad news for those who were waiting for a fairy tale wedding like that of Prince Charles and Princess Diana
The Sun is reporting that the break up was amicable and was caused by "huge pressures on the couple and by William's career in the army". This ends speculation that the couple would soon become engaged. People were so confident the couple would marry that Bookmakers stopped taking bets on it.
Prince William has dedicated the next few years of his life to the army putting him in a position whereby his main focus would be on his career. The media frenzy surrounding the two has also put a lot of pressure on the couple.
I'm glad the couple had the insight and courage to end their relationship now rather then bow in to public pressure and marry only to separate later.
