In a shocking display of violence and cruelty, a teen mother has stabbed her baby to death--she stabbed the infant over 100 times, put her in a trash bag and then threw her out.
A 17-year-old mother, Nicole Marie Beecroft, has been accused of stabbing her child 135 times and dumping the baby in a garbage can outside of her house. Oakdale, MN police have charged her with 1st-degree murder and the bail has been set at $1,000,000.
Under Minnesota state law, a mother may place a baby at any hospital within 72 hours of birth without any repercussions. Apparently, this mother decided that she would take this into her own hands.
The teenage girl had been employed at a local grocery store, and an anonymous caller tipped the police off to Beecroft--the caller said that Beecroft had given birth to a stillborn child and threw it in the trash can. This was not the case.
According to medical examiners, the child was born alive. And, from Beecroft's own testimony, she saw the child's finger move.
Beecroft has already confessed to the brutal murder of her infant daughter, and is awaiting her day in court.
She could have walked away and the baby would have been adopted by a family that wanted it. Instead she destroys two lives: her own and the baby's.
