Frightening Medical Experiences!

What does the Bible command us to do in regards to the oppressed, the socially wounded and the neglected?

Posted: 04.12.07 I know a man who does not like going to the hospital or to doctors, and do you know that hospitals and doctors and nurses and other medical care persons do make mistakes? Sure! They are human like most people! People make mistakes! But this man was ministering the Catechism in a small community a few years ago and the small community was involved in serious drugs as well as drug smuggling and the manufacturing and provision of illicit drugs to other nearby and far away communities and cities; and one day they fed the clergyman antifreeze to see what would happen to him if he was really so close to God and so holy and all, and he ended up in the hospital, the authorities were notified, the man was treated and sent off on a long recovery. Pretty traumatic stuff! But then two years ago the man started having strokes but no one would listen at first until his whole health was affected and he became crippled, and then the medical community where he then lived said that it was not their fault but his for not taking care of himself and they made all kinds of excuses, and even in his medical records he is noted as a difficult patient who will not follow up, follow through, keep his medical appointments or take his prescriptions as prescribed, and that is all so the medical persons who failed him can cover themselves for being the mistake-makers and quacks that they are. Why, even along the way, when the man was suffering, a couple of gay doctors mistook him as being interested in them and tried to have sex with him (while he was in pain and debilitated), and at two different facilities along the way! Both nice looking doctors, but both mistaking the man’s pained mannerisms and physically weakened affectations for interest in them romantically. Now though people hook up and make out all the time and in all kinds of situations, to make out with injured and debilitated patients is pushing the moral boundaries really too far in my opinion! Now the man has had recent heart attacks and when he is sent one place to another he gets lectured and mistreated straight away by the medical personal there because his medical records note that he is difficult and does not follow up, follow through, keep scheduled appointments, or take his prescriptions as prescribed... all of which is completely untrue. But now no one will listen to him, give him the benefit of the doubt, or treat him correctly once they have gone over his medical records and read all the notes that declare all his supposed failings and negative personality traits and inability to follow through with doctors' orders in own his medical care and wellness plan. So this man is already doomed to repeatedly suffer abuse and neglect by the medical community no matter what he says and does! And he is completely without hope and even being persecuted by them! And anything is he says or does will never repair the already damning situation for him and now all he has to look forward to is dying by abuse and neglect, as well as by more, ongoing, frightening medical experiences and mistakes, by the same medical people that we all turn to in time of health crisis for healing and cures! We would do well to pray for this man to find some kind of much needed personal advocacy wouldn't we?! What does the Bible command us to do in regards to the oppressed, the socially wounded and the neglected? Why defend them and take up their cause and to protect them from further harm of course!!! You hypocrites!
