Ann Harada, who originated the role of Christmas Eve in both the New York and London productions "Avenue Q" is leaving the world of disfunctional puppets for 19th century France.
On April 24 she will assume the role of Madame Thenardier in the Broadway revival of "Les Miserables."
Also coming into the musical will be Ben Davis, replacing Norm Lewis as Inspector Javert; Mandy Bruno as Eponine; and Max von Essen as Enjolras.
They join Alexander Gemignani (Valjean), Lea Salonga (Fantine), Gary Beach (Thenardier), Ali Ewoldt (Cosette) and Adam Jacob (Marius). The revival opened last November at the Broadhurst Theatre and has been extended until at least Labor Day.
I'm betting it's a shoe-in for best revival at this year's Tony Awards.
Lea Salonga as Fantine. Now that I would like to see. I hear she made an awesome Eponine.
