In 2005, President Bush signed an agreement that effectively ends the United States as a free and independent nation.
In a meeting with the Prime Minister of Canada and the President of Mexico, President Bush signed an agreement called the Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America. While this sounds very benign at first, further study of the agreement demonstrates that US sovereignty would be virtually negated, blending the US, Canada and Mexico into one entity to be known as the North American Union.
The plan will include a North American Super Highway system that will allow the transport of freight and people virtually unimpeded between all three countries. In essence, the borders between Mexico, the US and Canada would be erased.
The plan also includes the creation of a permanent tribunal to oversee disputes between the three countries. This new court would supersede the US Supreme Court, thus essentially nullifying the US Constitution. The US Constitution is supposed to be the Supreme Law of the Land, and nothing is suppose to supersede it.
This agreement has not been submitted to the US Senate for ratification, as required by the Constitution. Yet, even without ratification, plans for the Union are going ahead.
If this process is allowed to continue, by the 2010 the US will cease to be an independent nation governed by its own laws. Our laws will be subject to the approval of the NA Union tribunal, which will have the authority to overturn any and all US laws, including but not limited to our immigration laws, import/export regulations and so on.
Virtually none of the Presidential Candidates this year are mentioning this process, and the few that have mentioned it seem to be in favor of giving up US independence. One exception is Ron Paul, who is strongly opposed to the agreement.
If we are to maintain our independence as a free nation, we must resist this process.
It would be different if the various states of Mexico or the Provinces of Canada were seeking to become States in our Union (which would be permitted by our Constitution and would make them subject to our laws) but that is not what is happening. Bush has agreed to create a new body that has authority over the US. This cannot be allowed to stand.
