Anybots demonstrate Dexter and Monty Robots. Dexter can jump, stand erect and Monty can grip, lift weights upto 35 lbs and catch a ball also.
Start-up Anybots in Mountain View, Calif., has developed two humanoid robots, Dexter and Monty. Dexter has two legs, stands 5-foot-10-inches tall, and weighs 135 pounds.
Dexter robot can walk, jump and balance his robot body and stand erect. The founders say it is baby steps, but they are progressing in the right direction.
Dexter
Here is Dexter's legs and this portion is devised to be flexible to do all these operations, walk, jump and to stand erect.
The below picture shows how Dexter is in comparison to a person, and they simulate a standing person. Anybots built a system in this robot, so it can differentiate the up and down movements. Here the robots have air cylinders that acts like muscles and is constantly fed information and responds to up and down instructions.
This picture shows Dexter jumping off the ground:
Trevor Blackwell the inventor of both the Dexter and the below Monty Robot, here controls Monty's gripper through a handheld joystick.
Monty has two arms and a wheeled Segway base. One arm has a soft grip touch pads, the other one grips and lifts weight upto 35 lbs. The robot stands 5-foot-7-inches tall and weighs 160 pounds.
They have done an incredible job so far in demonstrating these two robots. After seeing all this you should be amazed at God's human body design, nothing like it. These may look easy but is a very arduous task, the scientists have a lot of work ahead of them. These robots are necessary for space exploration and other dangerous tasks. Read more about these two robots and pictures from here.
