The Spirit Airlines flight landed on time at Detroit Metropolitan Airport around 11 p.m. Passengers were not able to get off the plane until almost 4 a.m. Tuesday.
A customs agent from the airport told our local news reporter there were several reasons why these people were held on the plane for so long.
One, there was an accident involving an 18 yr. old employee who was killed on the runway last night. Two, all the custom supervisors went home for the night. Now, I am confused......why would they all go home?? Knowing that planes come in at all different times of the night??!!!
If I was a passenger on this plane, I would be extremely upset! Especially if my children were traveling with me like some passengers had! These poor kids were already on a long plane ride, and to be stranded for another 5 hours on a stand still plane with no running water for toilets!!
To me, they could have at least let these people off the plane and held them in an area of the airport! A little more humanely! You know, were they can get to bathrooms, get something to drink...etc.
Our local news channel is going to investigate more on this story....I wouldn't be surprised if there is going to be law suits filed!!!
