Hayek's new production company, Ventanazul, will release 2-4 films per year, focusing on Latino themes with mass appeal.
We know she can act and we know she's gorgeous. But did you know Salma Hayek was a savvy businesswoman?
Hayek and MGM have formed a new production company called Ventanazul. The actress will serve as Chief Executive of the new company, but the partnership is reportedly an equal one between her and MGM.
The goal? Release two to four films each year with Latino themes and talent, but with mass appeal. MGM will handle the marketing and distribution side of busines.
``This deal represents an amazing opportunity to draw upon the entire range of ways the Latin world can contribute to the film industry,'' Hayek said. ``We want these movies to appeal to everyone, but we also hope to make Latino audiences proud.''
Hayak is currently an executive producer of ABC's hit comedy, "Ugly Betty," which is a remake of a Columbian telenovela. She's also starred in films including "Desperado," "Frida," and "After the Sunset."
