A British grandmother didn't know she was pregnant until she went into labor.
Mandy Davidson, 45, of Caister, Norfolk coast had been feeling unwell for months. She'd experienced hot flashes, a bloated feeling and some weight gain, and had attributed it to menopause.
It wasn't until 5 hours before giving birth that she realized that she was in fact pregnant.
The British grandma had been at work at a center for autistic children at the time when her back began hurting. She said: "It was at lunchtime and I told my manager, 'I think I have got something to tell you. I think I could be pregnant and I could be in labor now.'
"We went straight to the hospital and Alfie was born at 6:25 p.m. They think that I was 40 weeks and that he was lying across me with his head down."
Davidson gave birth to a healthy baby boy. She and her husband have a son and daughter in their 20s, as well as a 7-year old grandson.
She had given birth to a daughter 7 years ago after an unplanned pregnancy, but the girl unfortunately died of diabetes at age 2.
Wow. What a story. How can a person be 40 weeks pregnant and not notice? I'm glad everything turned out okay.
