Jason Moore, who slashed his friends face with a homemade Freddy Krueger-style glove, was jailed for life yesterday.
The problem began with Moore's obsession of the Nightmare on Elm Street Series. He spent hours crafting a weapon like the one Freddy Kreuger uses after watching the movies.
The model he ended up with--the one he used to hurt his friend--features four curved steel blades attached to a welded brass amulet.
When taken into custody, Moore revelated to a psychiatrist that he had made 4 versions of the glove. The first was made in the 1980s when the first Nightmare on Elm Street came out.
The incident occured on August 30, 2006. Moore and Skamarski went to Moore's apartment to have a few drinks. As his friend John Skamarski slept, Jason Moore used the glove to brutally slash his face, neck and hands.
Moore will serve at least 4 1/2 years before becoming eligible for parole.
