Man and Cockatoo Rescued

By Bob Ewing     Apr 4, 2007 in Lifestyle
Coast guard helicopter needed to rescue expensive bird and owner.
William Hart and his cockatoo Geronimo were rescued from a pine tree by a Coast Guard helicopter. Geronimo is worth $2,000.00. It has not been reported how much the rescue cost.
Hart climbed the tree to rescue the bird after it flew out an open window. The door of the bird's cage was accidentally left unlocked. Geronimo was able to make his break. It appears Geronimo was not happy with his freedom as he came to his owner quickly when Hart climbed the tree. The problems, for this Texas man and bird, began when Hart could not get back down. Hart's sister was able to call for help when she heard Hart calling.
Hart says he'd do it again. I ask who is paying the bill for his rescue?
