article imageWomen's Health: Excercise May Fend off Arthritis

Study shows that moderate exercise may help fend off arthritis in women.
Good news for women, an Australian study shows that exercising as little as 75 minutes a week might help ward off arthritis in women.
'Women in their 70s who exercised 75 minutes a week reported fewer symptoms of arthritis than those who did less, while more spry women who were active at least 2 1/2 hours weekly had even less pain in the three years that followed. Although there appeared to be a direct correlation between exercise and lower joint pain, the reasons why were less clear.'
As a women who already suffers joint pain and stiffness in her early 30's, and who has watched her [55-yr old] mother suffer increasingly painful arthritis pains, this kind of news certainly gives me something to smile about. We can only hope that the news in this regard just gets better.
