Athletic shoe maker Reebok International Ltd. said on Tuesday it sued rival Nike Inc., claiming Nike had infringed a patent for collapsible shoe technology.
Reebok is owned by German company Adidas. They say 11 of Nike's styles for men and women infringe on their own technology that allows shoes to collapse for travel purposes. These are marketed under the "Free," "Free Flex," "Free Zen & Now, "Free Trainer" and "Free Trail" product names
Enough with the 2 zillion styles of trendy sneakers already. I don't care who copied who. The prices alone are enough to make you scream, though I have to admit, Nike makes some good quality stuff that lasts awhile.
Who will win this miniature sneaker dirt war? Who will "collapse" first? Stay tuned and I will bring you updates.
