By katangel88     Apr 3, 2007 in Crime
A suspended Toronto elementary school principal has pleaded guilty to throwing feces on a child.
Maria Pantalone, 49, was charged with two counts of assault - one against that child and one against another – but only admitted to one of the charges today
"“I couldn’t take it any more,” she testified, in describing the provocative circumstances leading up to the incident last June 30."
Ms. Pantalone was the principal of Keele Street Junior Public School and Mountview Alternative, but neither of the two victims were students there.
Since the summer (when she was charged), she has been ordered to stay away from anyone under the age of 16 and was suspended with pay.
Mr. Caroline (defence lawyer) submitted some 20 letters of support for his client, including one signed by 19 staff members at her school.
WOW! What could drive a person to throw feces on a child? Did the child do something so bad that it called for something like this?
Both Crown prosecuter and defence lawyer advised that she recieve an absolute discharge. meaning no criminal record for her, and staying away from the two children.
Can someone do something like this aand get away with nothing more than a 'Stay away from the victims'?
