Jellyfish Have Human-Like Eyes

By Leah     Apr 1, 2007 in Technology
A set of special eyes, similar to our own, keeps venomous box jellyfish from bumping into obstacles as they swim across the ocean floor, a new study finds.
Freaky-looking little things! They have 24 eyes, and one set of their eyes can view the entire ocean at the same time. One is at the top of the cup like body, and the other eye is at the bottom. But in this picture, it looks like they are right next to each other.
These jellyfish are called the "Box Jellyfish", and they are quite different from regular jellyfish. They do move around obstacles that they see, but if it is transparent, they do not have that ability to maneuver around them.
