House Speaker Nancy Pelosi will visit Syria despite the White House's objections. The State Department classifies Syria as a nation which sponsors terrorism.
Aside from Syria, Pelosi also plans to visit Israel and the West Bank. Clearly she's trying to be a more involved in American foreign policy, especially in the Middle East.
Like the war spending (more like war retreat) bill, this trip by Pelosi and her delegates against the advice of the State Department shows other nations, especially those rogue states, that there is no unity and solidarity between the U.S. Congress and the administration.
No doubt that Syrian officials will be elated to receive the Speaker and her team. In fact, I predict a flurry of photo-ops plastered among the mainstream media of Pelosi and Syrian President al-Assad.
