Maine couple to celebrate 80th wedding anniversary at nursing home

Kathleen Tarbell and her husband Waldo married in 1927 and will be celebrating 80th marriage anniversary this weekend. A commendable achievement.

Kathleen Tarbell and her husband Waldo of Maine(US) are married for last 80 years. A rare feat these days. Waldo is 101 and Kathleen will be 100 this June. The Guinness book world record is 83 years married life of a Rhode Island couple. The much publicized marriage anniversary will be celebrated on coming weekend at Ocean view nursing home in Maine where the couple is staying. They have two children two children, Helen Brown and Elliot Tarbell. Despite minor illness they have lived a normal life. They have worked hard through out their lives. "Sometimes it'd be 10 o'clock at night before we'd get done. We'd go into work at eight in the morning. By the time we got home and got turned over in bed it was time to get up again," she recalled. Despite their old age they are pretty much aware of the current affairs of the country and Kathleen thinks US war in Iraq is a wrong decision by president Bush.
