article imageStylish New Design in Google Notebook

By Chris V. Thangham     Mar 29, 2007 in Internet
Google Notebook adds a new design loads faster and some more additional features.
Google Notebook has a new UI that uses AJAX a lot (here's the old one, for reference). "After a long slog, our sexy new version of Google Notebook is out. There are still bugs and things missing, but I think this version is a lot more fun than the old one," says Kushal Dave on his blog.
Google Notebook is an useful tool where you can copy clips from web pages and save it for future reference. There is a Firefox extension, by which you can select the portion of theweb page you want to copy into your notebook and when you click this extension it will automatically copy into your notebook. What is the difference between the old notebook version and the new one? Once can see all their notebooks in the side bar which can be seen alphabetically or by date. Before one can add notebook only at the end, now you can add it either at the top, middle or at the bottom any place one chooses. Also, there is a comment section below the notebook, so when you paste it from a blog, you can add your view point so you will know why you added it there. They removed the save button, Google will auto save the contents automatically.
This Google Notebook version is much faster than before, and the design looks brilliant, they have added AJAX features so notebook runs faster. I use this notebook to save quotes, recipes, some great articles, thoughts etc., for later reference. I created different folders for different areas, so you can sort the pasted contents accordingly. Also, there is a great search tool in the Notebook so you can quickly find what you need from the many articles you have in the notebook, just like Mail search in GMail. Also, another thing, no worries about memory space, unlimited storage, though Google doesn't say it in open, there is no storage limit.
