Reports are beginning to emerge that a user has successfully run Joost on Apple TV. So what does this mean for TV? It means you could potentially get unlimited TV in your home for less than $300.
According to Apple, one user has reported success in running Joost on
Apple TV. There are some minor problems with fonts in Joost, but it's something Joost could fix soon.
So what does this mean? According to the Joost blog, if the program works well with Apple TV then you could soon get a free, unlimited TV experience in your home for less than $300 and watch different programs at your convenience.
Apple TV currently offers TiVo playback of shows, but users who don't have TiVo can use Joost as an alternative when it comes out of Beta this summer. Also Apple TV offers the following on big screen TVs:
* iTunes Video playback
* iTunes and mp3 audio playback
* Photo viewing
The article says that Apple TV can be modified to watch other video formats divx, xvid, wmv formats as long as Apple TV doesn't restrict other formats to be seen on Apple TV.
Apple TV works as follows:
1. Download Moviees, TV Shows, and more from iTunes
2. Sync Wirelessly from Mac of PC to Apple TV
3. Watch everything on your wide screen TV
Apple TV requires complex modifications, but I am sure users will find way to install other great features so one can use Apple TV and modify it to watch Joost, YouTube and other video sites, giving a better viewing experience on big screen and high definition televisions.
