Russian architectural ambitions appear to be on the rise
This is one of the most amazing buildings I have seen in some time.
Moscow's South West area will be home to a giant "flying saucer"- shaped building "Galaktika" (Galaxy). Apparently it is going to "hover" over the busy intersection of streets. It will have a shopping center, hotel, tons of parking as well as helicopter landing pads.
The author and main investor presented the idea in Cannes. The estimated cost is in the neighborhood of 250-300 million dollars. Construction will start at the end of this year and is expected to be completed by 2010.(How fitting.)
I am loving this new age that we are entering...The future is here at last. How beautiful is that building???
And as usual Russia has the gonads that we lack...They also have not lost their vision of a brave new 21st century world, like we have here. Check out the other pics in the link. This is a very bold idea.
