That didn’t last long. A week after announcing the YouTube Video Awards, YouTube has gone ahead and posted the winners.
As announced
before, YouTube today gave the
awards to popular videos in several categories.
Most Creative: Here It Goes Again by OKGo
Best Comedy: Smosh Short 2: Stranded Smosh
Best Commentary: Hotness Prevails by thewinekone
Best Series: Ask A Ninja by digitalfilmmaker
Best Music Video: Say It's Possible by TerraNaomi
Most Inspirational: Free Hugs Campaign by PeaceOnEarth123"
Most Adorable: Kiwi! by Madyeti47

The YouTube Awards 2006 may appear to be late, but it is a good start to help choose great videos and also make the users to create great videos to qualify next year. Some think YouTube is releasing this video awards in order to highlight that its site consists of user generated content and not infringing on copyrighted videos to help support its
case against Viacom.
Whatever the reason I think this is a great way to boost the users interest in both creating and seeing videos in YouTube.
