Couple Offered Toddler for 3k and an SUV

Out of Owensboro, KY, a couple are charged with trying to sell a 15-month-old girl for $3,000 and an SUV.

The couple in question, Charles G. Hope Jr., 32, and Amber M. Revlett, 26, planned to use the money to pay off Hope's fines for previous criminal charges. They were arrested on Friday. Hope said the two women (the "buyers") are just trying to get the child for themselves by getting him and Revlett in trouble. "They said something to [Revlett] about giving us $500 for temporary custody to take her to New Mexico and I said, 'Well, give me $3,000 and your truck,"' Hope said. "The next thing I know, I'm sitting here accused of trying to sell my kid ... . I know they don't think I'm serious, they just want her." Revlett has three children including the 15-month-old. They have been placed with Child Protective Services. Selling a child is a felony which may land both of them in prison for up to 5 years. I know they're innocent until proven guilty, but this is unbelievable. Willing to sell a child for 3,000 dollars and an SUV? If they are being set-up then the story is bound to get even more complex and unbelievable, but this is quite a wacky set-up if so.. If the two women really wanted the little girl that badly then why wouldn't they have just gone along with the plan?
