Osmonds may reunite for TV special

By Brandigal (Donna)     Mar 26, 2007 in Entertainment
In the 70's it was Osmania and it has been about 25 years since they did a television show together. Donny said they are talking about doing a television special. A one night special.
Donny who has been a teen age heart throb when the Osmonds were world known and the hormones were raging with Osmondmania.
Donny now currently released his 55th album and it is topping the charts in Britain. Latest Album, "Love songs of the 70's" went GOLD in the Uk.
He also is hosting two television game shows, one in Britain and one in the United States. In Britain he is doing Pyramid and in the United States he is hosting The Great American Dream Vote that begins on Tuesday, March 27 on ABC where people will compete to have their dreams come true and the audience and viewers at home will vote who will receive their dream.
If that is not enough to keep him busy, he now says that he and his 5 brothers are talking about doing a television special. To reunite the Osmonds for one night.
Donny said "I haven't done a show with my brothers for 25 years or so. We are talking about doing a TV special, and maybe something with (sister) Marie, but nothing is locked in yet."
The brothers were loved by fans all over the world. They could not go anywhere without being recognized. One fan even tried to mail herself to them. She was found in a box at the post office.
The brothers have said their Mormon faith have kept them grounded. Donny has been the one who has been the most successful of them all. He has starred on Broadway a few times with Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and recently with Beauty and the Beast. Both receiving rave reviews.
Alan, the oldest of the performing brothers, has not been able to perform much because he suffers from multiple sclerosis.
Wayne, Merrill, Jay still perform as the Osmond Brothers and Jimmy will sometimes join them on the road.
Marie now makes and sells dolls. She and her brother Donny had a variety show back in the 70's that ran for 4 years. They both had a talk show a few years ago as well.
Donny has been up and down and still remains devoted to his wife and 5 sons. He is now a grandfather at the age of 49. He started very young at the age of 5 and at the age of 49 he has been a teen idol, singer, actor, a host of talk and game shows, record producer, race car driver and author.
He is still loved and chased over in Britain and his concerts in the United States have sold out. He still has a huge fan gathering. His website [url=] shows how many fans he still has.
I seen this and just had to write it as growing up I was one of the ones that was part of the Osmania generation. I hope they do the television special for all us older fans.
